Launching the Adoptions Practice Framework
Adding to our nearly full complement of Practice Frameworks, the Adoptions Practice Framework was launched across the country on 19 February 2009.
The Framework acts as the foundation to support best practice in the area of adoptions. It is built to incorporate knowledge and expertise from international evidence, our own practice experience and our underlying values and principles.
As well as guiding day to day practice, the Practice Framework helps to strengthen your decision making and enable critical practice reflection through the practice triggers. It is a quick reference to 'what works' in adoption practice and the values that underpin it.
Like our other Frameworks, it includes three perspectives: child-centred, family and culturally responsive and strengths and evidence-based, as well as phases: engagement and education, decision making and assessment and belonging.
Have a look at the Adoptions Practice Framework to find out more.
Next to come on line will be the Residences Practice Framework. We expect this to be complete and available to staff in the next couple of months. We'll tell you more about this soon.
